Water voles have suffered one of the most severe declines of any British mammal. Across Great Britain, there are dedicated people rewriting their story and working to bring them back. This conference promises to be a fantastic opportunity to hear about their work. 

 We are very lucky to be welcoming some of the most experienced water vole practitioners and researchers as our speakers. They represent ecological consultancies, landscape-scale species recovery projects, captive breeding programmes, American mink eradication projects, universities, statutory nature conservation bodies and conservation charities. The full speaker line-up will be announced here very soon. 

Together, we will trace the history of water voles in Britain and tackle some of the biggest questions facing their recovery today, such as: is a mink-free Britain within sight? What does a secure future for water voles actually look like? What are genetics telling us? How can we ensure mitigation for water voles is effective? How do you plan a water vole translocation? And how many water voles are enough water voles? 

 This is a day for everyone with a professional or personal interest in water voles. Get the most up-to-date picture of how they are faring, what is working, and how we can all help. Put your questions to the experts and come away inspired to help make water voles a true conservation success story.
